Pick how votes reach you
Most live polling tools run a server that every phone talks to. PollCraft deliberately doesn’t: there are no accounts, no database and nothing to breach. That changes how votes travel, so choose the mode that fits your room.
Reply links: for remote groups and chats
Voters open your link or scan the QR code, tap an answer, and send back a reply link with one tap on their phone’s share button. Open it on your device, or paste a whole chat full of replies at once, and the chart updates. Same voter twice? The newer answer replaces the older one.
Pass the device: secret ballot in the room
Put a tablet or laptop at the front. Each person votes and hands it on; a “next voter” screen hides the previous answer and the results stay hidden until you reveal them. No phones or Wi-Fi needed.
Show of hands: fastest for big rooms
Read each option aloud and tap +1 per raised hand. You get the same chart, tally marks and export as any other poll. Open the hand counter.
The honest limit: because nothing is stored on a server, results don’t appear on everyone’s phone automatically. Voters send their answer back to you, and your browser does the counting. For a room of people, pass-the-device and show of hands are instant; for remote voting, reply links take one extra tap.
Poll tools for specific jobs
How much can you trust a 60/40 split?
Drag the sliders. The bar shows the result; the shaded band is where the “true” share of a bigger group could plausibly be (95% confidence).
±17.5 points, so anywhere from 42% to 78%. The range crosses 50%, so with this few votes you can’t say the leader has a true majority.
This only applies when voters are a random sample of a bigger group (say, 30 students standing in for the whole year). If everyone who matters voted, the count is simply the answer. Formula: 1.96 × √(p(1−p)/n), the standard normal approximation.
How to create a poll in three steps
- Write the question and options. Keep the question neutral (“Which day works best?” rather than “Isn’t Friday best?”) and make sure options don’t overlap. The “Check wording with AI” button flags leading or double-barrelled questions.
- Share it. Press Create poll. Your host board shows a QR code for the screen, a link for chat or email, and a Present button for projectors.
- Collect and read the results. Count reply links, pass the device, or tap in hands. Hide results while voting so early votes don’t sway later ones, then reveal the chart and export it.

Questions people ask
Is PollCraft really free with no signup?
Yes. There are no accounts, plans or response limits. The poll is packed into its own link, and results are counted in your browser, so there is nothing for us to charge for or store.
Do voters need an app or an account?
No. Voters open a normal web link or scan the QR code with their phone camera. No app, no login, no email address.
Do results update in real time on everyone’s screen?
Results update instantly on the host’s device as votes are counted. They do not sync to voters’ phones, because PollCraft has no server that holds votes. For a room, use pass-the-device or show of hands; for remote groups, voters send a reply link back.
Can people vote more than once?
Each voter’s browser gets a random voter id per poll, and a newer reply from the same id replaces the older one. Someone determined could vote from a second browser, so for binding decisions use pass-the-device with you watching the queue.
Where are my polls and results stored?
Only in your browser’s local storage on the device where you made the poll. Clear them any time from the privacy page. If you clear your browser data, they are gone.
How many options can a poll have?
Up to 12 options. Questions can be 200 characters and options 80 characters, which keeps the vote link short enough for QR codes.
