QR code poll tips

  • Size: a rough rule is that a QR code scans reliably from about ten times its width. A 10 cm code on a poster works from about a metre; on a projector, keep it at least a quarter of the screen height.
  • Keep the poll short. The whole poll is inside the link, so shorter questions and options make a less dense code that scans faster in dim rooms.
  • Leave the white border. Scanners need the quiet zone around the code.
  • Test it with two different phones before you print fifty copies.

Voters who scan a poster aren’t in a chat with you, so add your email in the poll’s Settings: they get an “Email my vote” button and the reply lands in your inbox. Open the reply link to count it.

How do I make a QR code for a poll?

Do QR code polls expire?

No. The poll is stored inside the link that the QR code points to, so it works for as long as pollcraft.app is online.

Can I use a QR code survey with several questions?

Each PollCraft poll is one question. For a short survey, make two or three polls and put their QR codes side by side, or use separate stations at an event.
