How to make a poll on Snapchat

Snapchat polls are added as a sticker on a Snap you send to friends or post to your Story.

Short answer: Open the camera and take a photo or video (or use a plain background).

Steps: how to make a poll on Snapchat

  1. Open the camera and take a photo or video (or use a plain background).
  2. Tap the sticker icon on the right-hand toolbar.
  3. Find the Poll sticker (search “poll” in the sticker tray), then type your question and edit the answers.
  4. Send it to friends or a group, or post it to your Story. Open the Snap again later to see how people voted.

Menus move between app versions, so labels may differ slightly on your device.

Limits to know

  • Stickers change between app versions and regions; if you don’t see Poll, update the app or search the sticker tray.
  • Snaps and Stories expire, so results are short-lived.
  • Everyone voting needs Snapchat and must be able to see your Snap.

When a link poll works better

Some of your group isn’t on Snapchat, you want results that don’t vanish, or you need an anonymous vote.

PollCraft polls open in any browser with no account, come with a QR code and a full-screen results view, and can run as a secret ballot on one device. How votes reach you.

Questions people ask

Can you make a poll in a Snapchat group chat?

You can send a Snap with the Poll sticker to a group chat, and everyone in the group can vote on it. If your app doesn’t show the sticker, paste a PollCraft link into the chat instead.

Does Snapchat show who voted?

It depends on the app version. If you need guaranteed anonymity, use a link poll with anonymous mode on.
